Who are Jarvis Manufacturing Ltd

With over 30 years’ experience in textile fabrication, Jarvis Manufacturing has the capability to not only produce low and higher volume, extended production runs but specialist, bespoke textile products for a wide range of applications, including the military and aerospace.

The challenge

The relationship between Jarvis and Qi started two years after the initial implementation of Sage 50 Manufacturing at Jarvis – which had not gone as successfully as the senior management had hoped!

Following initial meetings and discussions with Qi, it became clear that whilst the use of Qi’s subscription app ‘Operation Times’ (Bar Code Data Collection), for Sage 50 Manufacturing, could improve access to operational data and that Qi could (and did) assist Jarvis to make better use of Sage Manufacturing than they had done to date, as a solution, Sage 50 Accounts + Sage 50 Manufacturing could not support Jarvis through their planned period of expansion. There was no roadmap for Sage 50 Manufacturing and Jarvis required better cross company, real time, data to support their on-site, outsourced, and subcontracted manufacturing activities.  Jarvis explored Sage 200,, but dismissed it due to cost and the 3rd party supply of the manufacturing model.  Jarvis were keen to move to a single database ERP.

Upgrade from Sage 50 Accounts & Manufacturing to Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium + Qi JobTrack Bar Code Data Collection app, to support complex manufacturing

 

Qi migrated the Jarvis Sage accounts and manufacturing data sets into Dynamics 365 Business Central. This data was used for staff training and for proving the use of new processes available within Business Central to return the detailed, quality data required at Jarvis to support larger scale and more complex planning and manufacturing. The project was further supported by the commitment and positive attitude of the entire Jarvis team and the excellent organisational skills of their internal project management team.

The outcome

The availability of accurate, real time, financial and operational data, provides the management team with the tools they require to make better business decisions.
