A 10-Day Move to Business Central
Adan Ltd is a British hydraulic motor manufacturer supplying sectors including agriculture, marine, mining and petrochemicals.
The business had outgrown Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Manufacturing, with legacy system limitations affecting visibility, efficiency and future growth.
Qi migrated Adan to Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium using its QiMigrate toolkit, preserving key Sage 50 data and supporting go-live in just 10 working days. The result was a modern cloud ERP platform with improved processing, stronger data access and greater operational control.
The Challenge
Following an implementation of Sage Manufacturing in 2017 and commitment from Adan to get the best use from the application, it had become clear that the use of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Manufacturing had its limitations. With no further development planned for this application by Sage UK, there was therefore no hope that future developments could provide the improvements that Adan required.
Following a Sage 50 Accounts upgrade, a number of ‘gremlins’ were corrupting day to day use of Sage which Adan’s support partner were unable to fix. Adan required a system that would support their working practices and provide end to end visibility — for example, the tracking of a quote with job costing, conversion to a purchase order, works order and through to invoice was essential.
Adan’s short list came down to two solutions: Factory Master + Sage 50 Accounts and Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium, a single database, fully cloud based SaaS ERP.
The Solution
Dynamics 365 Business Central Premium and migration of Sage 50 Accounts data
The week of the UK Covid-19 lockdown, following close and detailed discussions and demonstrations with Qi, Adan’s Managing Director opted to implement Dynamics 365 Business Central and appointed Qi as its Business Partner.
Qi took Adan’s Sage 50 data and using its QiMigrate toolkit ensured that all data was migrated safely and intact. With the application of Qi’s Extensions for 50 suite, Adan went live in only 10 days from the day of their commitment to the project.
The Outcome
Robust, migrated data in a world class SaaS ERP, accessible from any internet capable device in only 10 working days.
Following this 10-working day migration project, Adan are now up to date with their invoices, are using the consumption journal and are processing effectively on Dynamics 365 Business Central and are no longer working with the constraints of interfaced, legacy manufacturing software.
Qi at the time of publishing was working with Adan to implement timesheets and to set up sub-contractors — this will be completed imminently.
