The Challenge
An MRP for Sage 50 Accounts with a Roadmap!
Moretech had relied on an MRP to interface with Sage 50 Accounts for over 20 years. Having deployed Promis, which then became Sage 50 Manufacturing, the business owners were disappointed to learn that Sage 50 Manufacturing would not only no longer be developed by Sage UK but was to be discontinued completely. The initial business challenge was not necessarily to migrate to a solution that had different functionality, but one that had an assured roadmap and would interface with new versions of Sage 50 Accounts as they were released.
The Solution
Cim50 Manufacturing: Stock, BOM, Works Orders and Quotations
Moretech embarked on their research and decided that Cim50 Manufacturing would be a sensible option to explore, being the suggested, logical replacement for Sage Manufacturing by Sage UK. Qi was suggested by Cim Services the software vendor as a business partner, being confident that Qi’s knowledge of MRP for Sage 50 stretched back over two decades.
Following a demonstration from the Qi Cim50 team — that highlighted not only the minimal learning curve for users when moving from Sage 50 Manufacturing to Cim50 Manufacturing but also the marked software improvements — Moretech committed to the migration. Sage 50 Manufacturing data was successfully migrated to Cim50 Manufacturing using the tried and tested migration toolkit.

Moretech appreciated the value of raising quotations from within their MRP, but Sage 50 Manufacturing did not provide the flexibility and usability required.
Using Cim50 Quotations, Moretech can now raise sales, purchase, and works orders from within their quotes, setting up repeat service and miscellaneous items and viewing detailed profit and loss information on orders which provides visibility on costs, revenue and expected profit margins.
Quotations can be created for manufactured items and configured ‘on the fly’ from within the record itself. Cim50 Manufacturing also provides Moretech with multiple price breaks and automatic cost recalculation for the same.
