A Supported Move to Cim50 Manufacturing

Passcomm Ltd provides telecoms solutions across industries including transportation, utilities, oil and gas, tunnel signage and fibre connectivity.

After Sage withdrew Sage 50 Manufacturing, the business needed a reliable alternative MRP solution that could continue working effectively with Sage 50 Accounts.

Qi migrated Passcomm from Sage 50 Manufacturing to Cim50 Manufacturing, moving the relevant data and providing full training. The result was a smoother MRP experience, less duplicate data entry, more tasks completed directly in Cim50 and stronger long-term assurance around Sage 50 compatibility.

The Challenge

Passcomm has long acknowledged the benefits of using an MRP to work with Sage 50 Accounts. In 2020 Sage UK announced the official withdrawal of Sage 50 Manufacturing. Passcomm’s support contract was not renewed by Sage UK and the business found itself in a position where it needed to find an alternative solution and a business partner to deploy it.

The Solution

Passcomm contacted Qi and, encouraged by the fact that Qi had also been a Promis and Sage 50 Manufacturing Business Partner and was now a Cim50 business partner, opted to engage in demonstrations and discussions to review Cim50 and the available improvements over Sage 50 Manufacturing. Qi was selected as the Cim50 Manufacturing business partner of choice, and Passcomm have now successfully migrated to Cim50 from Sage 50 Manufacturing.

The Outcome

Passcomm now completes more tasks within MRP, reducing the need for multiple data entry.

All relevant Sage 50 Manufacturing data was migrated to Cim50 Manufacturing. Full training was provided by Qi and Passcomm found the transition experience positive.

The Passcomm team now completes more tasks directly in Cim50 (e.g. creation of product codes) which makes for efficiencies and a better user experience. Passcomm has the assurance that its MRP is going to be kept compliant with new versions of Sage 50 Accounts as they are released. The business has also increased their number of MRP users.
